Kohlitz created supplementary animation for a film called, "Craft Beer in Japan," a documentary by Maarten Roos and John LoBreglio. As the title says it all, it's about the growing popularity of craft beer in Japan. "Traveling to Japan to scout this exciting emerging market, American craft beer brewmaster Rob LoBreglio sets out on an off-the-beaten-track visit to meet with beer brewers, pub owners and beer lovers and to discover the Japanese way of beer." Watch the full film at this link: amazon.com/dp/B01H879HZ6 (where you'll also see additional animations in the film done by Kohlitz!)
Kohlitz adopted the theme of the film by using colors that are consisting with beer; browns, yellows and reds. We even used real video clips of beer (notice how the beer bubbles and sways with movement in the glasses) in conjunction with animation. We also addressed the issue that the client wanted Mark and Jeff to be on-screen at first than smoothly transition to a full screen animation. Contact Kohlitz if you would like some animation to improve your documentary!
