Cayuse Creek airstrip was on my way home from Kalispell, MT so I stopped for a bit of fly fishing. Unfortunately, I have a dead spot on my starter, so I had to hand prop the plane. Since it was warm, the strip is only 1,800 feet and there are tall trees at the end, I and told myself I would abort the takeoff if I wasn't in the air by the windsock. I made it into the air by my abort point but as expected, the climb rate on a warm day was a bit anemic. Great little place for fly fishing just upstream from Kelly Creek at the headwaters of the Clearwater River.
