‘TIME OUT', a participatory performance by artist Margret Wibmer, invites sensorial and temporal shifts within a public context. Dressing in hooded, long black coats designed by the artist, visitors take time to attend to their own interior dimensions, at the same time they change the atmosphere of the museum and call attention to their place within it as living bodies. Those wearing the coats respond immediately to the transformative experience it offers, becoming aware of the anonymity and physical protection given by the garment, as well as the space that it provides to contemplate an elastic temporality.
’TIME OUT' was shown at Palais de Tokyo in Paris as part of the performance festival ‘Do Disturb’ curated by Vittoria Matarrese. Participation in the festival was proposed by Sandberg Institute and coordinated by Laure Jaffuel and Elise van Mourik.
