Wealthy people and corporations avoiding and evading tax cost the UK £120 billion per year (see taxresearch.org.uk/blog). That's enough to cancel out the spending cuts twice over between now and 2014. By contrast, people over-claiming benefits only cost the government £1 billion per year - roughly equal to the amount of tax dodged by Barclays Bank alone. Who are the real scroungers?
