One of the benefits of Strip District office is the expansive side yard that came with our building. Originally our building was used as a vehicle maintenance garage for a local electrical contractor, and the side yard was used to store telephone poles and equipment. In our first year here, we decided to convert the first twenty feet adjacent to the sidewalk as a parklet for the neighborhood. Over the eight years that we have been in this location, the parklet has been enjoyed by a variety of users who sit, picnic, or let their dog relax under our giant tree.
Every year in the Spring, we have a group outdoor session to add new amenities to this public space, to plant our raised vegetable garden, and to do general maintenance. We're excited to see the garden bloom again in 2016.
