Graphic designers are called upon to create memorable communications, meaningful interactions and satisfying user experiences. To achieve these lofty expectations and translate their design expertise, designers require a toolkit of software, hardware and other digital resources. How do these tools need to evolve to meet the needs of our industry? What will they look like in the future? How do designers stay ahead of the technology curve? Join a discussion of the tools that make design possible and how they will shape the future of design.

Khoi Vinh
Khoi Vinh is director of product design, mobile at Adobe, overseeing the direction of Adobe’s mobile apps to make mobile a meaningful part of the creative process. In addition, Khoi writes the design, technology and culture blog, Subtraction.com. Prior to Adobe, Khoi was design director for The New York Times and named as one of Fast Company’s fifty most influential designers in America in 2011.
Khoi will talk about Adobe’s push into mobile: how they've thought about phones and tablets in the recent past, and how they see the opportunity for a new generation of creativity tools going forward.
Magera Moon Holton
Hi, I'm Magera. I'm a product design manager at Etsy, where I lead a team of designers working in create the tools and systems that enable everyone to build holistic experiences that put people first. When I'm not at work, I really love dragging around a heavy old medium format camera to capture the places and people that are dear to me. Other times, I attempt to surf.
Magera will discuss the general theme of design decision frameworks and processes as a tool for innovation. She will explain the Double Diamond Model and other useful frameworks to help make sure you're solving the right problem to meet your customer's needs.
Ray Sison
Ray is a Design Director at Work & Co, where he employs a multi-disciplinary approach to design, combining his experience across various agencies, clients, and mediums to produce award-winning digital product experiences. Ray was previously a Design Director at R/GA, where he oversaw and designed rich digital experiences for Nike, including leading the design effort for the Nike+ Fuelband.
Ray will talk about how his design tools have evolved over time - what tools he has integrated into his design process (and which ones serve each purpose), what is on the rise, and how that's evolved over time.
