Lauren Patterson takes her backflip to dirt for the first time at the Sugar Showdown 2016; Duthie Hill Park in Issaquah Wa
After years of dedication she finally found the perfect jump for her first flip, the 5th jump on the Showdown's Pro course, BC/DC.
her first attempt during the pro practice left her in the dirt with a broken helmet, and a hurt wrist. She was evaluated by the medic and was back on her bike for the Jump jam. With a borrowed helmet and a taped wrist she ended the jam stomping her trick.
While not the first dirt to dirt backflip done by a girl, Lauren enters the small field of women who have. She was the first however to take a backflip to the Sugar Showdown opening new worlds for the ladies who look up to her for progression.
