A short documentary telling the harrowing and uplifting story of a young Eastern European couple who fell in love, barely survived Hitler's Fascist regime, escaped Czechoslovakian Communists, arrived in Canada penniless, and worked tirelessly to become prominent members of Toronto society. A piece of land purchased at the corner of King and John Streets in the early 1970's - the culmination of many astute yet risky investments - is now home to TIFF Bell Lightbox, designed to be the centre of film culture in Canada. This short doc pays tribute to Leslie and Clara Reitman's heartbreaking struggles and epic successes in life, family, business and love. Told with loving tributes from Ivan Reitman, Agi Mandel, Susan Michaels and Jason Reitman.
