I produced this video as a teaching resource for schools that attended Shakespeare's 'Othello' in 2014 at the Mill Theatre in Dundrum, Dublin. The 30 minute video is based around a series of interviews with six of the people who were involved in the play. The contributions from the Director, one of the actors and other members of the team behind the scenes, focus on the creative and technical approaches applied at the planning, rehearsal and performance phases of the production. The video was designed to give students an insight into aspects of the work that went into producing the play they had seen and which they were studying for their Leaving Certificate Examination.
My work for the production included sound design and music composed and arranged for the opening and closing of each of the two parts of the play, and key dramatic moments throughout, in addition to performing two of the supporting roles: the Duke and Lodovico.
The play was performed for 56 schools during the month of October 2014. A number of evening shows were also performed.
