Ever since Vietnam, many Unitarian Universalists have been openly critical of much of the military action by their government. But what do we do when people we care about decide to join the military? How do we reconcile our opposition to a war with our compassion for the individual men and women who serve? CH (MAJ) Xolani Kacela, USAF, will examine the apparent paradox of UU values and the military. He has also written two of the Meditations in Bless All Who Serve, the UU book created for service members and their families. Words and music for the service will be drawn from that book, and we will read the list of veterans being honored by donations to send copies of it to UU chaplains for free distribution.
