The challenges faced by the communities based in remote areas of Nagaland are manifold. In Tizit, healthcare services, water availability and road connectivity are just some of the many issues requiring attention and innovative solutions. Greenply Foundation's Mobile Medical Van (MMV) initiative was conceptualized and initiated with the aim to bring basic healthcare services within reach of these communities, at zero cost to them.
The MMV initiative began in December 2015. After the completion of the pilot phase, a number of insights from the field were incorporated into the operations of MMV and execution of health camps. Since February 2016, the MMV has been fully functional and is catering to 29 villages in Tizit addressing the health issues of thousands of villagers on a rotational basis.
Watch our project video to understand the magnitude of everyday challenges in these areas and how the MMV is bringing about a positive change in the lives of thousands of people.
