Worcester, Massachusetts. July 16, 2016
The Civil War Memorial in Worcester, MA was originally dedicated July 15, 1874 and hasn't been restored since. Money for the restoration came from the Grand Army of the Republic Memorial Hall Trust Fund. The project began in December, 2015 and was completed with the return of the Goddess of Victory to the top of the monument last week.
A history of the monument is available on the Civil War Memorial website (sites.google.com/site/soldiersmemorialworcma/history-of-monument) along with photos and stories of some of the soldiers from Worcester who fought in the Civil War.
Music performed by The Providence Brigade Band, pbband.org, and used with permission.
