In order to test out our new HD camera and to fulfill our love of prehistoric animal documentaries, we created this little story about a fictional Sabertoothed House-cat. We noticed on Discovery Channel that hurling planet busting asteroids into earth seemed to be a birthright for post-production companies in this genre, so we began at the very end- its extinction. Hopefully, we can produce more shorts and give additional life to this prehistoric beast... yes... the credits are almost as long as the short... but that's my favorite part of Mozart's Requiem so I had to play it through...
This was filmed in Rhode Island wilderness with the Canon T2i, animated in Flash, composited in After Effects, and edited in Premiere and Soundbooth. The 3d asteroid was created in Amorphium Pro. The whole production team, from shooting to post, consists of just two people- Damon Wong and Dee Boyd
