"A French American documentary of dance and ideas"
AMERICAN REALNESS for dance 2016 follows the AMERICAN REALNESS tour to 3 cities in France and explores what it means (or doesn't mean) to place an American frame around a group of artists. Artists and presenters discuss gender, race and identity as represented in the contemporary performance landscape in both countries.
Interviews with Dana Michel, Ligia Lewis, keyon gaskin and Miguel Gutierrez as well as Aymar Crosnier (CND), Cathy Bouvard (Les Subsistances), Stéphane Boitel (Théâtre Garonne) and AMERICAN REALNESS founder Ben Pryor.
