Ed Cooke is best known as Fryeburg’s “Mr. Twister Pretzel Guy,” but for Keegan Cooke, he is also a father, an artist, and an inspiration. For twenty-one years, Ed has run his small business out of a booth at the Fryeburg Fair, “the most intense week of my year.” Lately, Keegan has come up from Brooklyn to help his father manage the fair. In the off-season, Ed builds his post-and-beam house in rural Brownsville, and Keegan returns to Brooklyn, where he runs a small screenprinting business, and drums in his indie rock band. Father and son make a life working with their hands, “just doing the same thing in different places.”
