La Perouse Bay is located on the sunny, windy, dry, leeward coast of southwestern Maui. It is an area of very recent volcanic activity. The land surface here is composed almost entirely of unweathered, bare lava flows. The shoreline is mostly rocky, with low clifts and hidden beaches. The large summer swells that are generated in the south Pacific Ocean rise up out of the deep bay water and camn reach 20-30 feet in hight. La Perouse is still one of the untouched location on Maui that still reveils history, beauty, sealife, lava and much more.
