This is a ~1 minute timelapse of >1,000 color visible light satellite images obtained by NOAA's GOES-11 satellite.
During this time period, the first major winter storm on the 2010/2011 season hit the west coast of the US, dropping well over 100" of snow on the Sierra Nevada. The skiing at Squaw Valley and in the surrounding backcountry was excellent.
Images courtesy of NOAA. Images were cropped and contrast added in Photoshop for better visibility.
