Buurtzorg is a nursing organisation in the Netherlands which runs on the principle that people receiving care should always be at the centre of the service. This simple principle has led to radical innovations in how things are run. Nurses self-organise into teams of no more than 12. They manage everything - with coaching when needed from the wider organisation. It works. Everyone - staff and people they care for - are much happier than before, when nursing was run as a big bureaucratic machine. This video shows something of the first gathering in Scotland of health and social care organisations interested in trying the Buurtzorg approach.
