With close to 450 runners the first annual Casey Cares Green 5K at Pulse Health and Fitness Club was a huge success! In addition to the runners, there were scores of families participating in the 1 mile Family Fun Walk and 100 yard dash Jammie Jog. This event served as an excellent opportunity to align runners green values with helping so many deserving families being served by the Casey Cares Foundation. Casey Cares provides uplifting programs with a special touch to critically ill children and their families.
Top sponsors of the event were Pulse Health and Fitness, Tri-Cerat, Hallaton, Halloteq, WPOC-FM, Baltimore Sun Media Group and others. Greening the event included all runners receiving t-shirts made from 100% post-consumer recycled content or organic cotton. All event signage was biodegradable and made of post-consumer content recycled materials; bins from BFI were set up for recycling plastic bottles, cardboard, paper, glass, and for composting water cups, and food waste; special parking for hybrids, etc.
