This edition of the World AIDS Museum series: Tapestry: The Faces of AIDS," profiles Dr. Bob Wallace. Dr Wallace is a General Practitioner who has been dealing with the AIDS epidemic since the first cases of Kaposi Sarcoma in St Petersburg, Florida in the early 1980's. In his up close and personal interview he shares his courageous stand against discrimination and stigma and presents a unique historical perspective to the AIDS epidemic with actual case studies and a sense of hope for the future. Dr Wallace explains the struggle that the medical community faced and continue to face with the AIDS epidemic and his involvement with clinical trials in the quest for a cure. He also shares his personal story as he lost two long term partners to the AIDS epidemic, although he himself never contracted the virus. Dr Bob also made history when he married JoJo Wallace on January 6, 2015, becoming one of the first couples to marry in Florida immediately after same-sex marriage became legal in the state. The World AIDS Museum is the first museum dedicated to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The Educational Center provides information on treatment and prevention of HIV. Whether infected or affected, everyone has been touched by this in their own personal way.
