The writer/psychologist William Maslow would describe a peak experience as a self-validating, self-justifying moment, a culmination of realizations marked by lightlessness from a shedding of fears, anxiety, doubts, and inhibitions. In this work the artist has attempted to manifest this event in physical form. In the tradition of Iccarus the idea was always to try and fly too high too fast. This was the first fully automated robotic object built by Jason Cook.
