I thought it'd be fun to do a "birth" of this cool liitle mech rig as he exits the monitor and tries to find his footing - and then promptly blows up the camera man. *Sniff* They grow up so fast.
Of course the idea was to play with how much I can get away with using bad footage in PFTrack, and the answer seems to be that I should probably do more than just track and solve. There are little jumps here that are the marks of a lazy person (that would be me) who didn't mask out problematic areas of footage. Also, don't try to match a 30 fps video of 24 fps animation with 24 fps animation. It just won't work for you. These are all good tips.
The rig was from Kiel Figgins' site (modeled by Joe Treu and rigged by Jessica Lauren Spence, two people who share the good fortune of having no idea who I am). The rocket also was from Kiel's page, which has become my own personal pillage site.
