In this presentation for ASERL members, Bess de Farber from the University of Florida Libraries talks about grant-seeking no longer being an individual sport. Libraries are well positioned to benefit from their inherent collaborative environments. This Collaborative Grant-Seeking webinar outlines time-tested steps for establishing a culture of grantsmanship developed at the University of Florida. This process has professionalized the pursuit of grants by librarians and staff, and includes: 1) creating an internal grantmaking program; 2) searching for appropriate grant opportunities for libraries; 3) developing workflows for preparing and submitting external proposals, and 4) building buy-in throughout the library. Examples of recently awarded grant projects and many useful resources are included.
