This is a protest video about the horrific brutality done to women in a certain middle east country, and asks the question "How Can You Stand And Watch Me Burn?". We are always talking about women's rights and how abuse to women should NOT be condoned, and yet, our politicians are smiling at and making deals with the very leaders who condone this type of abuse. So, we talk the big talk, but we do not walk the big walk.
The poem was written by Louise Peacock, and is based upon true events and stories found on the web page of RAWA (Revolutionary Afghan Womens Association).
