This week, Pastor Don takes us to the New Testament book of Hebrews to show us that God reserved these prophesies by Haggai and Zechariah for the Church, as Apostle Paul in Hebrews 12:26,27 calls Haggai 2:5-9 a “Now promise,” saying:
Haggai 2:5-9 KJV According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remains among you: fear ye not. (6) For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; (7) And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. (8) The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. (9) The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.
Hebrews 12:26-27 KJV “Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. (27) And this word, Yet once more, signifies the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.”
In this Hebrews passage, you will carefully notice that Paul is not teaching the Haggai event in its entirety because God was not ready yet to reveal (even to Paul) all that was in this end-time event for the Church. But the Holy Spirit had Paul to merely let us know that Haggai’s promise of “Yet once more, it is a little while and I will…” was indeed a last-days event, not something for the time of Haggai.
God reserves the revelation of scripture until it is time for it to be revealed to the Church for fulfillment. Otherwise, Satan would take the advantage of earlier knowledge of the event to create havoc surrounding its fulfillment in the earth. Notice Paul’s statements regarding how God speaks through the biblical prophets, but waits to reveal their full meaning until time for fulfillment so that the Church may come to believe:
1Corinthians 2:6-8 “I proclaim a message of wisdom to those who are spiritually mature. But it is not a wisdom that belongs to this world or to the powers that rule this world---powers that are losing their power. (7) The wisdom I proclaim is God's secret wisdom, which is hidden from human beings, but which he had already chosen for our glory even before the world was made. (8) None of the spiritual princes of the evil of this world knew this wisdom. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
Romans 16:25-27 “…according to the revelation of the secret truth which was hidden for long ages in the past. (26) Now, however, that truth is being brought out into the open through the writings of the prophets; and as the Eternal God commands, it is made known to all nations, so that all may believe and obey. (27) To the only God, who alone is all-wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever! Amen.
It would be necessary that we connect-the-dot that Haggai’s prophecy was for the Church, therefore the Holy Spirit led Paul to give us that much information in his Hebrews 12:26,27 writing to the Church. In the verse just above Paul concludes his Romans 16 passage, with “(27) To the only God, who alone is all-wise…” to indicate that this is, in God’s wisdom, how He lays out the plan from the beginning, but releases revelation of its real meaning only at the time of its fulfillment. Let’s put three scripture together to see this principle of God’s wisdom in which he lays out the whole plan, but only reveals it in His perfect timeing:
Isaiah 46:10 “declaring the end from the beginning, and from the past those things which were not done, saying, My counsel shall rise; and, I will do all My desire.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has given revelation in their heart, without which man cannot find out the work that God makes from the beginning even to the end.
Isaiah 48:3 "From ancient times I predict that which will take place; then suddenly I make it happen.”
You can see then, in Biblical prophecy, God’s infallible sovereign Word is designed to be released, then held secret, then it its perfect time revealed for the preaching of faith to those for whom it is to be fulfilled.
This current assignment of teaching then is vital in understanding the spiritual concept of the great prosperity phenomenon, the great wealth conversion, an end-time event within the Day of Jehovah Tsaba.
