James Edward Vint
January 25, 1924 – August 4, 2016
James Edward Vint of Kelowna passed away peacefully on August 4, 2016, in Sun Pointe Village, at the age of 92 years. Jim was born in Kelowna on January 25, 1924, son of pioneer Glenmore orchardists, James McFarlane Vint & Ethel Vint.
Jim is survived by his wife Josephine; three daughters – Laura Paterson, Jan Vint and Marj Vint; five grandchildren – Terry Ann Stevens, James Paterson, Corinna Mulyk, Marissa Hutchison and Kate Vint, as well as six great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his parents and sister, Jessie Vint.
Jim’s family is grateful for the many years they were able to share with him in the surroundings that he loved, particularly camping and fishing around the BC lakes and Vancouver Island, and anywhere that a good cup of coffee and tranquility could be found. Jim was always happiest when he was surrounded by family, close friends and nature.
A private burial was held at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, and a Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1162 Hudson Road, West Kelowna on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society British Columbia, Lymphoma Society of British Columbia or the Canadian Wildlife Foundation.
