This video was taken in a pool less than 3 feet deep near the Van Duzen Elementary School and the pool is loaded with native juvenile suckers and young of the year and yearling steelhead. The suckers move lazily towards the cover of the overhanging vegetation, but the yearling steelhead move around in a frenzy, as they think I might be a predator. There were more fish here in fall than in spring and there were hardly any fish there in 2015. A big difference is that there is enough flow to keep pools connected and to deliver food (the steelhead look porky). Cold water seeps up from the bed, which keeps the pool cold enough for steelhead at the bottom of the pool all summer.
