The graphics for this video were produced using a Commodore 64 running BASIC in 1983 as part of the work towards an MFA I received from Mills College in Oakland, CA. Sadly some of the single-pixel dots -- unseen clearly as stars made by Creates toward the end -- didn't transfer during the digitization process. I created the audio heard here with a Sound Transform Systems Serge Creature and Sequencer-A and a Boss DD-5 Digital Delay stompbox in November 2010, recorded into Propellerhead Record and finalized within BIAS Peak Pro. One week after Random's debut at my thesis concert, I screened it again at Mills' outdoor coliseum for a twilight composers' concert. An inadvertently perfectly timed flyover by a Cessna pilot seemed to extend Create's path off the computer display, causing quite a cheer from those in attendance. You shoulda been there!
