Theme for September: Faith, Friendship, & Relationships: Building Authentic and Lasting Bonds with Those Around Us
Relationship happens when we allow any human encounter to be infused with the love of Christ. But, other than shining words and a high goal, how does this work in everyday life? And what then happens in times of loneliness or distance from others that can so easily overtake us during major changes?
Our speaker, Adrienne Kennedy - teacher, researcher, writer/lecturer, has led workshops on human development and life changes for decades. She is a dedicated student of cultural currents and the life challenges that hit us all in early adult life as we search out our place in the world. After years of teaching, administration and consulting, Adrienne now is active in mental health advocacy, public policy and criminal justice reforms. She serves on civic advisory committees, as well as the national board of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Arlington, VA., where she was recently elected to the Executive Committee as second vice-president. Adrienne and her husband of 42 years have 5 adult children and 9 grandchildren.
