This short documentary film follows a student's journeys through the 2015/16 RSA Student Design Awards, and explores the life-changing impact of the Awards through interviews with past winners.
The annual competition – now in its 93rd year – challenges emerging designers around the world to tackle pressing social, environmental and economic issues through design thinking. Winners are rewarded with practical and financial support and industry connections to launch their careers, joining a roll-call of eminent alumni that includes Apple design chief Sir Jonathan Ive, fashion designer Betty Jackson CBE, and Nike’s innovation lead Richard Clarke.
Director Paul Wyatt provides an inspirational insight into the experience of participating in the RSA Student Design Awards, combining behind-the-scenes footage from the judging and awards ceremony with candid reflections from 2015/16 finalists, judges and alumni.
