PEAKS – visualization of Swiss mountain names

PEAKS explores the staggering amount of mapped and named peaks in the Swiss Alps. See how the four official languages contributed to the peaks’ names, and how a lesser known language has a surprising reach. I made this data visualization at MIT in Ben Fry’s – the co-inventor of the Processing creative coding environment – inaugural information design class in May 2016.
