Aarhus Under Construction by Irina Paţa

About the project:
A city is a living organism. It is always changing in response to economic, social or environmental challenges. This is perceptible in the urban grain of Aarhus city, constantly under construction, as well as its animated street life. A coffee shop is changing its billboard - there should be more green and blue. An office is being refurbished - brand new desks for the employees. The neighbour across the town hall is painting the carpentry. The city itself is investing in various infrastructure projects. It feels like Aarhus is preparing for something to come.
The project presents an image of a city in transition and captures a moment in the slow evolution of the city centre over many years. It illustrates how people interact with this ongoing movement, the landscape created by constructions sites, at once ephemeral, but with a tangible impact.
