Initially created as part of an application for a UX program, this video is a nice summary of why I like working in UX.

So, nothing exists in isolation - everything is part of a larger system. To create effective solutions, you have to consider the whole environment.
A user's immediate experience of a product is a system.
The design and implementation of that product is a system.
That product, and the user's experience of it, is part of the larger environment of the company that built it, their client, anyone involved...
Each of these elements must be designed, from the details of pixel dimensions and colours through to the impact the product has on the user's life.
This combination of detail work and systems thinking, strategic committment, planning a digital ecosystem that addresses a client's core needs, delivering an efficient solution that goes above and beyond initial expectations... These things are braincandy to me.
And that's what I want to work on - projects that I can sink my teeth into, with details and big-picture thinking, that are going to make even just one person's life a little bit better.
