I grew up in this small town of Abruzzo, Orsogna (Chieti) and this is where i first met a little boy called Nicolino Di Battista.
One of my favourite memories of Nicolino dates back to his first communion celebration, when I was asked by his parents to play the Accordion, at the hall of the restaurant, during his party.
When I started to play, the young boy, Nicolino and all his friends and cousins were playing outside the hall, at the playground, as soon he heard the music, he came towards me and stood still, watching and listening to me playing the Accordion. He was drawn in by the music and I remember that at the end of the party, his parents said to me: "we may allow him to take Accordion lessons".
Today he is a professional player, playing both piano and diatonic Accordion.
