A short video with music to show the video quality of a modern compact camera(Canon Ixus 100) shooting in HD and edited within Final Cut and output as an mp4 file. Most modern compact cameras are capable of great results.
I was using a Canon housing and Inon Wideangle lens, and I used Custom White Balance on the camera to get the colours correct, this is not the same as the Underwater setting, which in my experience is less than ideal in getting great underwater colours.
Using custom White Balance which is really easy on the Canons, and it gets the colours correct at a variety of depths, where-as the Underwater setting is only optimised to work well at one depth, around 5m
No extra lighting was used and I was shooting between 5 and 18m depth.
I am also using exposure lock to stop the video from deviating its exposure in the rapidly changing light.
