TeamCuisine at a Retreat

Ingenious teamed up with Recipe For Success to deliver a personalized cooking class experience to participants of the East Coast eDiscovery & Information Governance Retreat.

The team building experience began with participants arriving in a room that was set up with multiple food preparation stations that included fresh ingredients that looked and smelled great! The Chef began the cooking class with a brief but important orientation of the evening including safety lessons and basic knife skills.

Each team chose a leader or "Chef de Cuisine" and was presented with their team's culinary challenge. The teams began by inventing a team name and sound or cheer. Then they began creating their culinary masterpieces. The food preparation process lasted for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Oh, and by the way, no recipes were given to the teams - inspiration, creativity, collaboration, and trust in each other ruled the evening!

One of the highlights of the cooking class was a competitive component where the teams were judged on presentation, taste, cleanliness and teamwork.

Finally, the event's experience was summarized by the Chef. He reminded participants of the delicious gourmet buffet they created and asked the most important question of all, "If you can do this team exercise, with all of these challenges you experienced today, what can you do as a unified team?" Each team then gave their own unique answer.

All of the teams took a moment to admire the food creations and celebrated a very successful team effort, before the participants enthusiastically consumed the sumptuous feast!
