Seattle’s Fishermen’s Terminal has been the home of the North Pacific Fishing Fleet for nearly a century, but in 2001, the Port of Seattle announced it would open this blue-collar enclave to pleasure boats.
The film tells the story of those decided to fight to keep the Terminal for working fishermen. Four years in the making, the film gives an unflinching look at class politics, the obstacles facing the small boat fleet and at the public agency that controls most of Seattle’s waterfront.
Featuring fishermen Pete Knutson, Mark Johansen, and Boyd Dingman; Port of Seattle CEO, Mic Dinsmore, Port Commissioner Alec Fisken, author Jonathan Raban, attorney Phil Talmadge, Chef Maria Hines, and reporter Annu Mangat.
Music by Laura Love and Three Mile Chase.
Fishermen's Terminal was made possible in part by 4Culture and the Harburg Foundation. Fiscal sponsor: Nordic Heritage Museum.
