I wrote this song just a short time ago which is significant because many of my songs were written in the early eighties when I was still young with most of my life to live. If I had written this song then, it would have been no more than a hollow hope; I write it now, knowing all the ups and downs, all the good days and bad, all the crazy hopes and lost dreams. If you get to that point and you can still say ‘It’s good to be alive’ then it means something. Life is rarely comfortable, warm, soft and smooth but it is always full of rich experiences, love, harsh lessons and reflection. I’m happy with that.
