The OrthoPets Toe-‐Up is an assistive
device for patients with sciatic nerve insufficiency secondary to Degenerative Myelopathy,
intervertebral disc disease, fibrocartilaginous embolus, spinal trauma, neoplasia among other
Patients with the ability to bear weight on the limb (i.e. hock, stifle, and hip
extension) are candidates for the Toe-‐Up device; these patients have diminished conscious
proprioception or loss of digital extensor function causing toe dragging and knuckling. The
Toe-‐Up provides sufficient lift to prevent trauma to nails and digits.
The OrthoPets Toe-‐Up is intended to prevent trauma to the digits during activity. It should
not be left on over-‐night and is suggested to be used for no more than 3 continuous hours
without a break.
