This yard featured a glorious Italian Stone Pine tree which dominated a small plot of land. I had a relatively short throw to work with. The amount of color coming out in the drawings now is surprising me.
[@ 900% speed] Mapping drawing to site and the consequent reverse mapping of site within a drawing. Utilizing video projection of hands-on drawing tools, I am experimenting with doing projection drawings onto specific sites. The 3 dimensional space is the canvas. I am curious about both how the 2d drawn mark engages with the 3d space and how the 3d space impacts and structurally shapes the 2d drawing. NOTE: The video really flattens things out so you can't tell how the light is hitting surfaces that are many feet apart. The DETAIL images at the end do a little more justice to the dimensionality of the landscape "canvas" and how the drawn mark interacts with the textures, surfaces and spatial qualities of this backyard.
Thanking the people who are volunteering their home environments for these site-inspired drawings.
