This is one of a series of "in camera" pieces I have done. One of the goals of my work is to use the camera (and at other times software) to explore the relationships between time, visuality, and meaning.
For this work I prepared a batch of polenta cakes for an open screening event taking place later that evening. The final shot is of the polenta being served at the event which this work premiered. The shared experience and metaphors of a communal meal influence the impression of work. I also like root beer.
Made for an Alfred University EIA open screening in 2009.
