The Stella Bertz Association ("Cheer for a Cure") was established in honor of Stella Bertz, a most enthusiastic and giving person who was dedicated to the sport of cheerleading, coaching in the Genoa Area School District for over ten years. Stella succumbed to cancer in February 2003, and it is the hope of the association to continue her spirit of giving.
We are inspired by the enthusiastic and ambitious spirit cheerleaders seem to share. It is our goal to harness the spirit and power of the cheerleading community and direct it into an opportunity to truly make a difference. It is really amazing to see what we can accomplish when our sport comes together.
We are not just “cheer”leaders, but community leaders in the making…Thank you for helping us CHEER and LEAD for a cure!
