Polimoda Fashion Show 2016 | full-length video

The Fashion Show is the most important event of the year. That's why our Fashion Week has begun with it. For the first time, and to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Institute, the Show was held in a new location (the Renaissance courtyard of the magnificent Palazzo Strozzi) and an international jury of fashion industry experts attended and judged the 'Best Collection for 2016'. This year, the students from 3rd year Fashion Design were looking at 'Cults' as inspiration. Groups seen as radical from the outside yet welcoming from within, what classifies a cult today? How do garments express or conceal radical beliefs and boundaries broken? These questions were answered on the runway, in the collections of the best students from across the grade.
