18 January 2011 marks two years since the end of the brutal conflict in Gaza and southern Israel. A UN fact finding mission documented war crimes and serious human rights violations committed by both sides during the conflict.
Yet two years on, both sides have completely failed to credibly investigate these incidents and so the long suffering victims are still being denied justice.
We simply cannot win such a peaceful future by ignoring the violations of the past. Now is the time to put human rights and human lives ahead of short-term politics – and to win truth, justice and reparations for all the victims of the Gaza conflict.
