Movistar+ wanted to promote its NBA space and target a very specific audience: followers that watch their early morning matches. We thought that the music and sound design should be closely connected to the storytelling. The sound universes we created changed dramatically as they moved along with the story.
We started by creating the most realistic Foley: from sounds of the television set, the acoustics of a bedroom, the players’ steps.
When the main character starts his transformation, the sound also changed into more singular spectrums, bringing us closer to a nightmare. To resolve this, we thought up a series of sounds which, when overlapped, created a clear crescendo. The piece reached a sound collapse after an incidental music entrance and a wolf’s howl. In the last part, we already enter a dark, urban, and modern environment, with a techno, percussive and rhythmic sound emerging.
Finally, we decided to resoundingly punctuate the piece with some silences, which we use to stress the story’s moments of suspense.
