I have been invited to the Philippines to help co-teach a workshop on filming techniques and editing with Final Cut Pro. I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out what I'm supposed to teach in the class. I've been told that Filipinos are very relational people and that they place a huge value on getting to really know one another, therefore, building close ties, and stronger friendships in Christ. (Something the West could learn to do more of...) So, I thought maybe I could teach on how to tell a story artistically and visually with using very few words...
It's a "three-fer" really, we grow closer by me sharing something that's precious to me...the love of my daughter, we get to see how I view the world and talk about storytelling through moving composition, and we get to study the who, what, when, where, and why's of how this piece was shot and put together.
But more than most...I'm looking forward to growing with my new found friends in Christ...and learn volumes from them and how they view the world around them.
Im honored to even be a part of the training that's to come.
