Joe’s story: He was a stray German Shepherd dog who ended up accidentally falling into a well; miraculously, Joe was saved by some brave firemen. After being rescued and then adopted by Linda Frederick, Joe was accepted into training for the NJ Rescue and Recovery K9 Unit. Roughly 2 years ago, both of Joe’s (back) knees started failing due to his active search and rescue lifestyle, as well as natural aging processes. Joe could barely walk let alone run. Linda was distraught and so she reached out to Dr. Derfuss, DVM, who utilized stem cell therapy to restore Joe’s knees with spectacular results. Joe can now go back to work where he is happy, active and healthy. In Joe’s spare time, he resides at Linda Frederick’s animal shelter, Animal Assistance 501c3 in East Brunswick, NJ.
