Johann Neem, WWU Department of History will speak on "Deliberation from James Madison to Today." and Brad Howard, WWU Department of Journalism will address "An Idea without a Home: Democratic Deliberation and American Journalism."
Brad Howard is Associate Professor of Journalism at Western Washington University. His primary area of research is news mapping and critical thinking. He teaches courses in news writing, journalism history, research, and theory.
Johann Neem is Associate Professor of History at Western Washington University, and author of "Creating A Nation of Joiners: Democracy and Civil Society in Early National Massachusetts" (Harvard Univ. Press, 2008). He teaches courses on the American Revolution and the early American republic.
