Gripper 3025 with triangulation kit. (Used a Manfrotto column right angler on the center vacuum cup for some shots)
Shot entirely with T2i (1920x1080 @ 24fps) with one Canon prime 28mm 1.8 with a UV, CPL, NDx4, and two ND grads all stacked.
This was the first test of my new camera car mount. This thing is so solid and versatile.., I'm blown away by the possibilities.
What I learned from this test:
1. When using a CPL, ND Grad or any kind of rotating filter on the end of your lens, the draft will start to turn to the filter. You can see this start to happen in the beginning of the video where the reflections on my windshield go from heavy to light. I remedied this by securing a single piece of gaffer tape around the CPL filter and onto the ND filter under it.
2. Wi-fi connection from camera to laptop & monitor is a must. Forget about trying to use wires.
3. With just this kit; 85mph is the max I can go without getting severe vibrations. I put two stress acceleration tests in the video and you can see where this happens. Once in the beginning toward Pinksy's house and again at the end on Valley View. (HOWEVER, the fact that my car is carbon injected, over 40yrs old, and rides low with shawdy suspension may play a big factor in the speed limit)
All in all, I had a friggin' blast. This was just an off the cuff test, and all the footage seen in this video is straight off cam (no CC, not even a WB correction). I kept out a lot of the footage/angles I filmed, primarily because I will use those same angles on my second test, and this time everything will be pre-planned and fully orchestrated with a co-pilot (which is also something you really need, especially if you plan on doing focus racks in motion.
