Adult Literacy Project is a part of the Women's Empowerment Programme that aims to help women in rural Sindh become educated. There is a large number of women in rural Sindh who never got the chance to study either because of a patriarchal culture that doesn't allow girls to go out of their house, or because many of the women got married when they could have been going to school. PEP has initiated this project having the objective in mind to educate as many women as PEP can, so that women in the rural Sindh can be quipped with something they can build on for a good future. Many women who have been a part of the Adult Literacy Project have already started small businesses to sustain their homes and their children's education. This is a short video of the initial training of the Adult Literacy Project at PEP after which another similar video about the women leaders of rural Sindh will be published in mid-November.
